Sending Hugs Black & White Card (Jane's Doodles DT) + Earthquakes in Croatia update

Hi everyone! :o)

I hope you're all well and healthy.

Earthquakes are still shaking daily the central part of Croatia. Although there wasn't such harsh earthquake like the one that hit on December 29th, 2020, 12:19 PM local time (6.4 magnitude), there were quite of earthquakes that made even more damage in cities Petrinja, Sisak and their surroundings.

Many families lost their homes, city Petrinja and some nearby villages are totally devastated, county hospital in Sisak is unusable, schools damaged and won't be able to start their work on Monday, January 18th, 2021, after winter holidays. Everything is so sad to watch and process....

There were some damaged buildings in earthquakes in my town Ivanić-Grad (houses, radio station and museum, church, one primary school). I truly hope everything will be fixed soon.

My family and I are safe and well. We feel earthquakes on daily basis, as we are around 25 - 30 kilometres away from epicenters, but we are very grateful and happy that we didn't suffer any damages.

Once again, I would like to thank you all who contacted me to check on how me and my family are and for all your supportive messages and comments here on my blog in this awkward time.

This is a hard time for Croatia. We are all trying to help as much as we can to families that lost everything in a second of time, helping with donations to renew schools, hospitals etc.

Jane of Jane's Doodles drew a beautiful 'Hope' digital stamp for charity to sell for $5 to raise money for all who are in need and suffering the effects of earthquakes in Croatia.

Jane already donated an amount received by January 5th, 2021, but is keeping the image in the store to raise even more money and to donate it where needed. Please check all the details on Jane's Doodles blog (here). Thank you all who joined or will be joining this noble action.

Today I want to share with you this CAS (clean and simple), Sending Hugs Black & White CardIt was my spotlight project for Jane's Doodles on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021. I didn't manage to share it here on my blog earlier, so I'm sharing it today. :o)

For my card I used beautiful 'Hope' digital stamp for charity and a sentiment from 'All Occasions' stamp set.

How I made my card....

I created a layout on my computer using the digital image and printed it on a white cardstock paper panel.

I glued the panel on a black side folded card base.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white on a black cardstock paper. After an embossing powder set down and cooled, I cut the sentiment to a desirable shape and size, glued 3-D square foams on the back of the sentiment stripe, glued the stripe on the card and my card was finished.

Card measurements: 133 mm x 102 mm (5 1/4" x 4")

List of supplies:

Simple but very effective design.

Thank you for stopping by and your kind feedback. Stop by a bit later, I'll be sharing one more card. Enjoy and smile! :o)

  1. I’m glad to hear that you and your family are doing ok. How terrible to hear about all of the destruction & people’s lives so disrupted. Prayers for you all. I bought one of Jane’s rose stamps. If she makes any more, I’d probably buy that too.

  4. Your card looks fabulous in black and white!!
Still so shocked to hear of all the destruction from the earthquake. It will take a long time to fully recover but it sounds like communities are really helping each other. That is very inspiring.
