Hello everyone!! :o)
I've invited some of my crafty friends whom I admire greatly to hop along with me, and I have some amazing sponsors lined up with gifts to give away to You! :o)
Aim of the hop is to celebrate World Space Week (WSW), an international celebration of science and technology, and their contribution to the betterment of the human condition. The UN declared in 1999 that WSW will be held each year from October 4 – October 10.
"These dates commemorate two events:
October 4, 1957: Launch of the first human-made Earth satellite, Sputnik 1, thus opening the way for space exploration
October 10, 1967: The signing of the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activites of States in the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies."
Find out more about WSW on the official WSW page.
Our other aims are to inform other crafters and visitors of our blogs about WSW, to share some inspiration with our space themed projects and to encourage You to create Space themed projects, and most important, to HAVE FUN. :o)
EACH year WSW has different theme to celebrate and this year's theme is Space Unites the World.
Previous two years, I've organized various activities for students in a school I worked at. This year, I'm celebrating here on my blog with my crafty friends and You. :o)
PRIVACY NOTICE
No personal data from this blog hop and giveaway will be shared on official WSW 2018 event list neither shared with any other party.
After drying, I heat embossed in white the sentiment directly on the colored panel. Then I splattered the panel with white tempera color mixed with water. I smeared a bit of the white tempera color here and there where I wanted to get lighter parts of the Galaxy Sky. After drying, I glued the panel on a black side folded card base and drew couple shiny stars with white pigment ink and white gel pen.
Next up was a rocket. I stamped the rocket on a watercolor paper and colored it in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. I decided to use same colors for my rocket as for my galaxy. I was a bit afraid at the begining, how will it look, but I love this "monochromatic" look in the middle.
After drying, I fussy cut the rocket and traced edges with a black marker. To make the image thicker (the watercolor paper I used for the image is thinner than the paper I used for the background) I stamped another rocket on a white cardstock paper scrap, fussy cut it, traced edges with black marker and glued the colored rocket over it.
I glued some foam on the back of the rocket, glued it on the card base, added some white highlights and my card was finished. :o)
I really like how my card turned out. :o) Check that tiny heart above the sentiment... That's a splatter!!! :o)
At the bottom of this post you can find card measurements and detailed supply list for my today's card.
