Poppies Birthday Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Happy Friday! :o)

This is my third post today. If you missed previous two just scroll down or follow direct links here and here.

Two days ago, on Wednesday, June 5th, 2019, was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Poppies Birthday Card:o)

I really love how my two Hibiscus Cards that I made last year turned out (here and here), so I went with same design on my poppy card. Idea to do so and color scheme inspiration came up one afternoon last week. The moment is captured. LOL :o)

To make this card I used stamps from two brand new Jane's Doodles stamp sets: gorgeous poppies from 'Poppy' stamp set and a sentiment from a beautiful 'Doodle Butterflies' stamp set.

How I made my card...

With some masking, I stamped gorgeous poppies on a white watercolor paper. I made masks of all poppies from the set when I was making this card. I stored them to use them in my future projects.

I colored gaps among flowers with black marker. Then I watercolored poppies in watercolor technique using Distress Inks.

After drying, I glued the panel on a white square card base.

Lastly, I heat embossed in black the sentiment on the card and my card was finished. :o)
