Owl Teacher Card

Hi everyone!!! :o)

Today I want to share with you a CAS (clean and simple) Owl Teacher Card. :o)

I made it for my niece to give it to her teacher for International Teachers' Day.

To make this card I used SUPER CUTE stamps from a Clearly Besotted 'A Class Act' stamp set. This stamp set is no longer available in the size I have, but in a smaller version at Clearly Besotted ShopI got this set three years ago from a friend crafter, Zrinka of Owls and Co.. This was the first time I used the set. Whoops!!! :o)

How I made the card...

I stamped an owl teacher and a chalkboard on a watercolor paper and colored images in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut both images and traced edges with a black marker.

I stamped same images on a white cardstock paper panel, colored both with a grey marker and fussy cut them leaving thin white border around images. Then I glued watercolored pieces over the grey ones. I did this to make images sturdier, as the watercolor paper I use is very thin and I needed thicker images.

I masked one of sentiments from the set and stamped ABC on the chalkboard in white. I used a Tim's Holtz Distress Ink Picket Fence. The color was pale so I traced letters ABC with a white pigment ink.

Then I stamped a sentiment on a white cardstock paper panel and glued the panel on a white top folded card base.

I wanted to achieve different dimension on my card, but I had only one size of 3-D foams in my stash. I solved it with cardstock scraps. I cut two tiny squares, glued them together and glued them on the back of the chalkboard. Then I glued the chalkboard on the card. Next up was the owl. I glued 3-D foams 3 mm thick on the back of the owl and glued her on the card.

As a finishing touch I drew white highlights. :o)

    2. Oh my, how delightful card and sentiment!!! I totally agree with it :) It's no simple teach to kids, and a lot of patience is needed. But you know this :)
      Your water-colouring is always amazing.
