World Space Week Blog Hop (WSW day 3)

Hello everyone!! :o)

Welcome to a special annual blog hop,  2nd World Space Week Blog Hop. :o)

I've invited some of my crafty friends whom I admire greatly to hop along with me, and I have some amazing sponsors lined up with gifts to give away to You! :o)

Aim of the hop is to celebrate World Space Week (WSW)an international celebration of science and technology, and their contribution to the betterment of the human condition. The UN declared in 1999 that WSW will be held each year from October 4 – October 10

"These dates commemorate two events:
October 4, 1957: Launch of the first human-made Earth satellite, Sputnik 1, thus opening the way for space exploration
October 10, 1967: The signing of the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activites of States in the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies."

Find out more about WSW on the official WSW page.

EACH year WSW has different theme to celebrate and this year's theme is 'The Moon: Gateway to the Stars'.

According to the WSW 2019 theme, we will be showcasing projects featuring the Moon in today's blog hop.

This blog hop is a part of WSW 2019 celebration and is listed as an event on an official WSW 2019 event list: event ID 27855 (here).

PRIVACY NOTICE
No personal data from this blog hop and giveaway will be shared on official WSW 2019 event list neither shared with any other party.

For today's hop I've created this Dreams are like Stars Card. :o)

To make this card I was inspired with a gorgeous scene I saw in a documentary movie couple days ago. GORGEOUS!!! :o) I was also inspired with a card I made for last year's WSW Blog Hop (here).

For my card I used stamps from two Jane's Doodles stamp sets: the Moon from 'To The Moon' stamp set and trees from 'Happy Camper' stamp set. A sentiment is from unknown manufacturer (I received this stamp as used stamp from a friend crafter).

How I made my card...

I stamped the Moon and trees on a watercolor paper panel and colored everything in watercolor technique using Distress Inks.

First I watercolored the background. When I was satisfied with the color, I masked the Moon and splattered the panel with a white tempera color mixed with water. Then I watercolored trees and the Moon and dried the panel.

Next up was a sentiment. I heat embossed in white the sentiment. It didn't came out perfect because of the white splatters. Next time I have to do it in reverse order: first sentiment then splatters. :o)

Lastly, I blended edges with Black Soot Distress Ink, glued the panel on a black top folded card base and my card was finished. :o)

Card measurements: 95 mm x 146 mm (3 3/4" x 5 3/4")

List of supplies Say Yes to New Adventures Card:
