Hi everyone! :o)
Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Confirmation Gatefold Card. :o)
I made this card for my brother's godson, who has confirmation tomorrow.
To make this card I used a sentiment from GORGEOUS Jane's Doodles 'Bless Your Heart' stamp set.
How I made this card...
For a card base I used a white cardstock paper cut to 7" x 5 1/2". I scored the paper at 1 3/4" and 5 1/4" on the longer side and folded paper along scored lines. I got a card base measured 3 1/2" x 5 1/2".
I drew a cross on a patterned paper with a pencil and cut along lines. Then I drew a slightly larger cross on the white cardsotck paper and cut it out. I erased pencil marks and glued patterned cross on the white one.
I glued two patterned paper stripes on gate flaps. I glued three paper stripes on the back of the cross to get a bit of dimension (I didn't have enough 3-D foam in my stash, so I used stacked paper stripes instead) and glued it on the left gate.
Then I created a belt that will keep card closed. I heat embossed a sentiment in white on a vellum paper and cut it to a desirable size. I wrapped the vellum belt around the card (not too tight), removed it and glued two endings together to form a belt. I placed the belt on the card to keep it closed and my card was finished. :o)
I love how my card turned out and my brother too (he will give this card to his godson), which was the most important to me. :o)
