Rainbow Books Birthday Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight + RCC #2)

Hello everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Rainbow Books Birthday Card:o)

To make this card I used stamps from two adorable Jane's Doodles stamp sets: a book pile from 'Read All About It' stamp set and a sentiment from 'Belated Birthday' stamp set.

With some masking, I stamped the book pile on a watercolor paper and colored books in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the book pile and traced edges with black marker.

I stamped another book pile on a white cardstock paper, colored books in black and fussy cut the book pile leaving white border around books. Then I glued watercolored book pile over black one (I did this to make the image thicker, as the watercolor paper I use is very thin).

I heat embossed the sentiment in white on a black cardstock paper stripe.

Next up was a background. It's a fragment from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carol, Chapter V: Advice from a Caterpillar.

I created the background on my computer in MS Word. I drew Text Box size as my card base, wrote the text from the book in the box and edited the text (Font: Cambria Math, font size: 10,5).

I printed the text on a white thick paper, cut the panel to preferable size and glued it on a white top folded card base.

I glued 3-D foam on the sentiment and image (various thickness) and placed them on the card. As a finishing touch, I drew white highlights on books. :o)
